Meet me
What’s in a name?
The meaning behind the Noongar word Maali means black swan. The Noongar people are the traditional owners of the southwest of Western Australia, and their language is rich and beautiful.
The black swan is a majestic and graceful bird that lives in wetlands and rivers. It is also a symbol of strength, resilience and spirituality for the Noongar people.
The black swan is a symbol that holds deep spiritual meaning across cultures and belief systems. Embracing the symbolism of the black swan leads to personal growth, inner healing, and spiritual awakening. The black swan teaches us that change is simply part of life, and it is through transformative experiences that we can reach a higher state of consciousness and true potential. It reminds us to take notice of the signs and messages that the universe sends, as they can often lead us to new insights and opportunities for growth.
Just as the black swan stands out with its striking black feathers, we can celebrate our individuality and embrace our own unique qualities. The black swan conveys a deep spiritual meaning which resonates with individuals on a very personal level.
Its graceful presence and stunning black feathers represent the dual nature of light and darkness within our own lives.
The black swan offers a reminder that even in the face of adversity and challenges, we can find beauty, wonder and strength.
It teaches us the importance of welcoming the unknown and embracing change, for it is through these experiences that we grow to find resilience and our full potential.
Debra Hitchins, Reiki Master
I'm so happy to share with you my journey with Reiki. It began when I went to Solaris Care for Reiki while my husband was battling terminal Glioblastoma. It was a lifechanging and profound experience that opened my eyes to the incredible power of energy healing. I decided to learn as much as I could and became a certified Reiki Master. I'm so thankful to my teacher and mentor, Trish Hughes, who has been a great support and inspiration. I'm also studying Psychology at the University of Western Australia, and I have a background in business and administration. I'm a proud Mother and Grandmother and I love how Reiki can help people on physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels.
